The Kentucky Science and Engineering Foundation (KSEF) is organizing this SBIR/STTR Phase II Proposal Development Strategies event led by Jim Greenwood (speaker bio).

About the Workshop

  • SBIR Phase II basics, differences between the Phase II agencies, Phase II proposal preparation process, technology commercialization process and Phase II (including commercialization potential of your project, commercialization topics that must be addressed in the Phase II proposals), Phase II cost proposals and audits.
  • For companies to be able to complete, it is important that a significant number researchers in our region become involved in SBIR/STTR related activities.
  • This event will be tailored to those who are currently involved as well as those new to the programs -- to learn how to become involved either as consultants, collaborators, reviewers, or future applicants to the federal programs.


  • A one-page concept document will be required 15 days prior to the event to help with discussion and participation; instructions will follow soon after you register.
  • To ensure a successful coaching experience, priority requirements apply (except for current and future program reviewers).

  • Early registration: $50 until February 22 -- this registration rate is a significant discount, thanks to the sponsorship of our event partners.
  • Regular registration: $75 after February 22 -- until March 1 (rates go up to $150).
  • Registration includes materials, light continental breakfast, lunch, breaks, and attendees of the event are eligible for a FREE review of their Phase II proposal by GCGI (valued at $1,000).
  • In accordance with the Americans With Disabilities act of 1990 and the Rehabilitation Act of 1993, reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made; please request at least two weeks in advance.
  • Registration full refunds will be available up to three weeks before the event; 50% refunds thereafter.
