RDE: The Research and Development Excellence Program
The Research and Development Excellence Program (RDE) targets achieving excellence in science and engineering in Kentucky, through innovation and technology development in existing and emerging areas of research, by making proactive investments through a peer-reviewed competitive selection process.
Dates for new solicitations will be posted on this webpage at least one month ahead of the call. Email notifications go out to our mailing list at that same time. If you are not already on our Constant Contact "funding...opportunities subscribers" email list, you may want to consider submitting your information (click here) for the latest news and updates.
Eligibility for RDE
Kentucky universities, colleges, and for-profit organizations may be eligible to apply. See "Request for Proposals (RFP)" and "Instructions" for eligibility details under the current solicitation.
Dates are not set for a new call of RDE proposals for 2015/2016.
The "Important Dates: RDE-018" and the Request For Proposals below pertain to the RDE-018 solicitation of 2014.

Application and Reporting Site for RDE
Each PI can review all of his/her reporting deadlines by signing in to the online reporting system at http://applications.kstc.com for the Research and Development Excellence Program. Before initiating an application, be sure all reports and deliverables are current. Applicants who have been delinquent in submitting reports - both active and post (annual professional activity and achievements reporting) for previous Research and Development Excellence and/or Kentucky Commercialization Fund awards - may not be invited to apply for future rounds of funding.
